Eduvijes Estrada Gerena was born in Puerto Rico to Natalia Gerena and Demetrio Estrada. She was the only child of this union. She had some older sisters on her mother's side. when she was around 8 years old, her mother passed away. Some time later, her father married his second wife, Rosa, and they went on to have many children.
